The Dun Cow is situated right on the village green in Salthouse, on the North Coast of Norfolk. This gives you easy access from all directions, yet we still retain the character of a traditional village inn in a rural community. The A149 is a pleasant coastal road serving the whole edge of Norfolk, although more direct routes such as the A148 and A140 are available.

From the North and West

From the north, use the A17 then A47 towards King's Lynn. From the west, use the A47.

If time if not an issue, then after by-passing King's Lynn, take the A149 coastal road. This will follow the North Norfolk Coast, until you arrive in Salthouse. To download more detailed directions in PDF format, click HERE

If you prefer a more direct route, then after King's Lynn take the A148, leave this a bit before Holt to join the B1158 on the left. This will join the A149, continue right to enter Salthouse.

From the South

Approach Norfolk on the A14 and/or the A11. You will leave the A11 at Barton Mills, taking the 2nd exit on the roundabout to join the A1065. Keep on this road until Fakenham, join the A148 to Cromer, but just before Holt join the B1158 on the left. This will join the A149, continue right to enter Salthouse. From Suffolk

Follow the A140 all the way to Cromer, then join the A149 coastal route (left/west) and follow into Salthouse. To download in PDF format, click HERE
